Arbor Basin is a multi-functional tree protection and irrigation system that looks like a regular bench. It was born out of an ongoing frustration for the lack of care that trees in cities often had, despite providing numerous benefits. Existing products for tree irrigation and protection only serve one function and the most effective ones were cumbersome to install and very expensive. My design solution integrates irrigation and protection into a simple bench that supports the tree and provides a refuge for passers-by.
